cant think of a title lol xx

Keeping it short today as I'm really not feeling well - after 2 of my 4 having Mumps of all things, then 2 having colds, then chest infections, - I have finally sucum myself and have a rotten cold and bad sinus' :0( xx
Any way here's the projects from this past week.

Am loving working with book pages at the mo, as you can see lol. The wreath is huge, at least 2ft accross but it really is stunning in the flesh. I like both, as spraying the pages gave such a different look.
The panel is a bit floral overload with the masked background, but the colours are good and the starkness of the music paper goes well.
Right off for a lemsip now xxxx

Bunting with a Twist

Last weekend I joined the team at Hobbycraft Chelmsford, along with 12 other demonstrators to celebrate the stores 1st birthday. I was there demo'ing the Big Shot die cutting machine. I had planned to make some halloween bunting, but due to my parcel from Sizzix not arriving in time, it only got half finished sadly. (The parcel has now turned up and it should mean I can finish the banner in time for trick or treating tomorrow evening).
Anyway......... this is what I did manage to finish on day 2 (shop was much quieter lol)

Apologies for the poor quality of the photography.
To create this lovely 'vintagey' bunting I used -
the Big Shot (obviously LOL)
X-cut nesting heart dies
Patterned and Kraft card
Crafts Too embossing folder
Inka Gold paint
Old book pages sprayed with Adirondak Colour Washes and  Glimmer Mist mica srpays
paper roses, jump rings, crop-a-dile & glue.

I'm loving the inked and sprayed book pages and have several more projects using them in the offing. They are also something that it's handy to keep a stash of, ready to use in classes and demos' when space etc doesn't allow for you to make them up at the time. I loved spending a happy hour with pages spread all over the lounge floor (I put an old sheet down 1st LOL), just sparying different colours and inks and trying lots of different combo's.

Here's a couple more recent projects....

You may remember last year's 'Truffle Tree's'? Well I had some oasis balls left over and an excess of pink paper roses, so I decided to make this for a friends new conservatory. Just needs topping up with those pretty glass nuggets.

Next comes the start of 'Curly Paper Wreath' I have all but finished this now but it did take the best part of a whole morning (spent sitting at the dining table listening to 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - happy days LOL). I like the effect butmy choice of contemporary colours does not lend itself well to Christmas and I can't see this being up all year round :0(
Well, that catches me up a bit I think. I'm teaching weekly at Hobbycraft Chelmsford still, next class Weds 2nd Nov 10am is The 1st Noel (see pic) drop me a message to book a space. TTFN xxx

Playing Catch Up

Hi everyone, well it's almost 2 months since my last visit to blogland, so I thought it was about time I dropped in and caught up with everything.

As ever the summer hols have been manic with all the children at home and the weather not being too kind.
However, hubby and I did snatch a weekend away on our own which I'd booked as a surprise for him. Here's a piccie of the 'STUNNING' car we got to drive around Kent for the weekend.

Anyway, the Hobbycraft classes are going well, here's a pic of last weeks class (being repeated on 14th Sept)
The photo really doesn't do this justice. A combination of Kraft card, K & Co papers Inka Gold from Viva, beads and paper roses, it has a lovely 'vintage' look and is sooo pretty.

Next up is the sample I'm making for Sundays class. I have plenty of ephemera to fill this but don't want to add it until the day.

As you may be able to see, I haven't stamped the sentiment on the paper, but on an acetate window I made to fit over the compartment. I wish now I had placed an item or 2 behind the window before
I glued it in place :0(   There are a few finishing touches to add but am loving the colourfulness of this.

Next up, is a very simple sample of an upcoming class at HC. this is so quick and easy but I LOVE this look and is exactly what I was hoping for (except maybe the shade of red, need something darker, less orangey)
Well, in the words of Loony Tunes (which believe me this house feels like much of the time LOL) that's all for now folks! xxx

Recycled

I was unpacking some embellishments the other day ( which turned out  not to be a nice as I'd hoped) when it occured to me how gorgeous the box they came in was. I come accross lots of these boxes so Today, I put 1 to use by creating this -

I'm really pleased with the colours and think the look is very 'pretty'.
